Welcome to Mad4Sport.co.uk, the website arm of Final Score Sports Shop. Final Score Sports Shop was established in 1996 in Uckfield, East Sussex and has subsequently expanded to three shops in Heathfield, Crowborough and new bigger, premises in Uckfield.

We are a fully independent, family owned and managed business, committed to providing the best products together with sound, impartial advice and competitive prices. Our size allows us to offer many of the benefits of scale while retaining the personal feel and attention to service and detail.

As a “serious” sports shop we tend to emphasise the functional rather than the fashionable (although the two can coincide!). Consequently, the ranges we stock differ markedly from those in the large multiple chains which often appear to be “clones” of each other! Within this site you will therefore find predominantly serious sports product from serious sports brands.

Until now we have avoided the internet as a retail channel, preferring to operate as a traditional “bricks and mortar” outlet only. We have been concerned that being online would mean that we could not provide the same quality of service (friendly, courteous and most importantly knowledgeable). Most of our products require a degree of expertise in order to be sold properly. For example, in our two storey Uckfield shop we have a 500 sq ft running and fitness showroom which includes our video gait and motion quest analysis facility. This facility allows us to accurately diagnose the correct shoe type required by individual customers.

Our concern has been how to provide a similar level of service online. Whilst we would always welcome and encourage customers to visit our stores (particularly to access specialist services like VGA and restringing), we believe that we have succeeded in creating a website that has reached a new level in terms of customer service. This has been achieved through our exclusive Mad4Sport “Buying Guides”!

Our Buying Guides can be thought of as our “online shop assistant” designed to guide and advise you on your purchasing decisions. Simple, clear and informative with links to other sites and information, the guides will help you avoid those purchasing errors that we have all made at some time or other!!

Also, because the range of products available for all sports has become immense (and confusing), we have within this website attempted to do much of “the leg work”! We have spent many hours selecting what we believe is the best product available in each category to save you wasted hours searching. For example, there are dozens of “baselayer” type undershirts for sale and we have selected for our site what we consider to be the best in terms of functionality, price, fit etc. However, as with the whole of our site, if you are attempting to locate a style not displayed then please contact us by any method and we will endeavour to help.

Indeed we are known locally for our friendly, approachable style and believe we can now offer this to a wider audience through this site which we trust you will find easy to use. We would be delighted to hear from you should you have any feedback.
